Pricing & Diagnostic
How much does AC repair cost in Port St. Lucie?
Our diagnostic visit starts at $50 (credited toward repair). Common repairs typically range from $150–$800 depending on the part and labor involved. We provide a written quote before starting any work.
Is the $50 diagnostic fee charged if I don't proceed with the repair?
Yes, the $50 diagnostic fee covers the technician's time and expertise to diagnose your system. It's credited in full toward any repair or installation if you proceed.
Do you charge more for locations outside Port St. Lucie?
For service calls beyond 25 miles from our Port St. Lucie base, a travel supplement of $20 per additional 10 miles applies to the diagnostic fee. We'll always confirm the total diagnostic fee when you book.
Do you provide written estimates?
Yes, always. We provide a written quote before any repair work begins. You'll know exactly what you're paying before we start.
Repairs & Service
Do you offer same-day AC repair?
Yes, we offer same-day service Monday through Saturday from 8am to 6pm. Call early in the day for the best availability.
What brands of AC do you repair?
We repair all major brands including Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Rheem, York, American Standard, Goodman, Daikin, and more.
My AC is running but not cooling — what could it be?
Common causes include: low refrigerant (leak), dirty evaporator or condenser coils, a failing compressor, a bad capacitor or contactor, or restricted airflow (dirty filter/blocked ducts). A $50 diagnostic visit will identify the exact cause.
My AC is making a strange noise — is it serious?
It depends on the sound. Banging or clunking can indicate a loose part (serious). Hissing may indicate a refrigerant leak (serious). Squealing may indicate a belt or motor bearing. Don't ignore unusual noises — call us to diagnose before it becomes a bigger problem.
Maintenance
How often should I service my AC in Florida?
Twice a year is recommended for Florida homes: once in spring before the peak heat season, and once in fall. Florida's heat and humidity put extra strain on HVAC systems compared to other states.
Can I service my AC myself?
You can and should change your filter regularly (every 1–3 months in Florida). Keep the outdoor unit clear of debris. However, coil cleaning, refrigerant checks, and electrical inspections should be done by a licensed technician.
Why is my energy bill so high?
A dirty system, low refrigerant, or failing components forces your AC to work harder, using more electricity. Regular maintenance keeps your system efficient. Consider upgrading to a higher SEER unit if yours is old.
Replacement
How long should an AC system last in Florida?
With proper maintenance, most AC systems last 10–15 years in Florida. The intense year-round usage means Florida systems often wear out faster than in cooler climates.
When should I replace instead of repair?
A common guideline: if the repair costs more than 50% of a new system's price AND your unit is over 10 years old, replacement is usually the better investment. We'll give you an honest recommendation.
Do you offer financing for new systems?
Financing options are available. Ask us about current programs when you schedule your free estimate for a new installation or replacement.
